FAQs

What’s in your ice cream?

A short list of ingredients you can actually pronounce.
We make our own creamy base using cashew and coconut milk, then fold in high-quality, fresh ingredients.
Everything is naturally dairy-free and vegan-friendly.
No soy, no palm oil, no fillers.

What sweeteners do you use?

We use 100% organic raw cane sugar.
We have a selection of flavours sweetened with organic coconut sugar and maple syrup only.
Never artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols.

Are your treats gluten-free and coeliac-friendly?

Yep. Our entire kitchen is gluten-free.
We also bake gluten-free waffle cones every day - they smell dangerously good.

Do you have nut-free options?

Absolutely!
A selection of flavours are made with coconut milk only and contain no nuts at all.
They’re clearly marked on our menu, and our team can point you in the right direction if you’re unsure.

What makes your ice cream different?

We care (like a lot) about ingredients and how ice cream makes you feel.
Everything is house-made: the base, the caramel, the cookies, the crumbs, the chocolate brownie… all of it.
No noise, just really good ice cream.

Do you use gums or stabilisers?

We use less than 1% of organic guar gum and sunflower lecithin — both natural and used to keep everything smooth, creamy, and scoop-ready.

Where is your ice cream made?

In our Papamoa HQ in the Bay of Plenty.
Every flavour starts here, and every tub and bar is made by hand by our small, dedicated team.

Where can I buy Sea People ice cream?

Our ice cream can be bought from our Mount Maunganui scoop shop and selected grocers across the country - stockists list here
